Abu Omar Tawbah and Abu Abdarrahman Al-Ghab, two senior senior leaders of the Ahrar Al-Sham Movement, National Army, announced their resignations yesterday on social media.
According to our private sources, these two men would have resigned from their posts because of the political and military alliances that Ahrar Al Cham would have concluded with the organization of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the recent events of conflicts between rebel factions in the northwest Syrian.
Although several rebel factions have participated in the recent clashes, Ahrar Al Cham’s indifference to HTS attacks on national army factions has drawn the ire of large sections of the national army leadership, supported by Turkey.
These divisions within the Movement confirm once again the fragility of the organizations and the presence of political differences, which continue to exist between leaders within the revolutionary factions.
