Despite the numerous strikes by Israeli military on Iran’s bases and weapons warehouses, Iranian militias are beginning to establish a huge military base for advanced weapons near the Ain Ali Shrine in the Badia of the city of Al-Quriah, east of Deir Ezzor.
This base constitutes the second largest gathering of Iranian militias in eastern Syria. Its positioning near a “religious site” where many civilian pilgrims congregate raises concerns as it may be likely to be targeted by Israel in its campaign to counter the proliferation of Iranian weapons caches in Syria.
