Child Soldiers Swelling Kurdish Militia Ranks

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militias continue to recruit children into their ranks in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, despite the signing of an agreement with the United Nations in this regard.

Redur al-Ahmad, a spokesperson for the Kurdish Independent League, is quoted as saying that on October 10, SDF terrorists abducted the 15-year-old child “S.H.A” in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo and recruited him into their ranks.

He added that the “SDF militia” recruited 6 children only last October after forcibly removing them from their families in order to increase the number of its members, noting that it does not allow them to communicate with their families after taking them to training camps.

A report published by the United Nations General Secretariat last July, under the title “Children and armed conflict by 2021”, confirmed the continued forced recruitment of children by the “SDF” militia into its ranks in Syria
