Fresh Clashes in Somalia

Fierce clashes have broken out between Shabaab fighters and Somali government forces in the Cali Mahdi farm areas in the outer areas of the Somali capital of Mogadishu.

Investigations are still ongoing into the attacks that took place on Friday evening wherein 21 people were killed in a convoy traveling from Beledweyne to Mahaas that found itself in the middle of a Shabaab ambush.

Shabaab maintains it was an attack on a convoy looking to supply it’s enemies with supplies while others have accused them killing civilians in the raid.

Shabaab fighter’s fighting prowess has become more sophisticated in recent months as they have begun to use drones in their fight against the government and other forces opposed to them.
