Gang beatings, arrests, and pandemonium have greeted protesters in Idlib city today at the hands of HTS security forces.

Protesters are particularly charged due to the violent crackdown inflicted upon them several days ago by knife wielding agents of HTS strongman Abu Muhammad Jolani. Several protesters were stabbed in the head and one woman was stabbed in the stomach and back.

Protesters seemingly are not backing down and Jolani’s options are limited. He either has the choice of hoping the people will settle down and order restored, which is looking more remote with each passing day, or continue with his crackdown hoping it will not erupt into an armed rebellion.
