Israeli Soldiers Captured and Killed in Gaza
It appears from the recent uptick in videos released by the Palestinian resistance that the war is not going well for the Israeli’s. Hamas posted a video of an Israeli soldier bloodied and being dragged away. It was said that there were 16 Israeli fighters in the group and that they were lured into an ambush and all were either captured or killed.
Israeli PM Netanyahu is under enourmous pressure as the families of the hostages are protesting in unprecedented numbers. Additionally, last week three European countries vowed to recognize Palestine as a state. And then at the end of the week the ICJ called for a halt to the military operation in Rafah. Germany, who is a staunch Israeli supporter, also said that they would be obligated to arrest the Israeli PM and Defense Minister should the warrant be issued.
It was assumed by Netanyahu, it appears, that they would totally overwhelm the Palestinians with bombs and they would accept any deal to make it stop. However, it appears the Palestinians were more ready to fight the Israeli’s than Tel Aviv realized and they are now caught in a quagmire.
