Ukraine claims it encountered an Iranian-supplied “suicide drone” used by Russia on the battlefield presenting concrete evidence of what western intelligence and analysts had long suspected. As both Russia and Iran become more increasingly isolated from the broader international community the two states are becoming more involved and more closely cooperating.
While the two rouge states may be at seeming odds in places like Syria, where they compete for control and influence and where Russia is, at the least, complacent in the numerous attacks and strikes of Iranian assets, their shared isolation and lack of trade partners and political allies seems to be bringer the two ever closer.
