According to the Turkish site “Duvar”, the Saudi justice sentenced to death 3 three Turkish citizens, who went to the Kingdom in order to work but who were arrested for “drug trafficking”. He added that the families of the citizens tried to solve the problem by contacting Hatay state deputies in the Turkish parliament.

The deputies, in turn, contacted Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to resolve the issue. Hatay’s deputy for the Republican People’s Party, Serkan Topal, said they were able to bring 12 people who had been sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia to Turkey.

He added that they were currently in talks to bring the three Turkish citizens to their country as well. One of the MPs quoted ‘Cavusoglu’ as saying that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has discussed the matter with Saudi officials and they are making progress in this regard.
