A bomber disguised as a soldier entered a military base with soldiers in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu. After entering the base and queuing with the soldiers he detonated explosives killing one soldier and injuring six others, according to local sources.
Captain Aden Omar, a soldier who was there told Reuters:
“We lost one soldier and several others were injured. The bomber blew up himself at a check point”
Although no one has yet to claim responsibility it is widely believed Shabab is responsible for the attack, as they regularly carry out such attacks in the capital.
This strike comes only five days after Somali President Hassan Sheikh began his “total war” against the group by recapturing the small town of Booco in the country’s central Hiran region from Shabab.
