Russian delegation arrives in Turkey to discuss the Syrian file

Today, Thursday, a Russian delegation (diplomatico-military) arrives in Turkey to talk with the Turkish side on the Syrian file, in particular the Turkish military operation.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has confirmed that a high-ranking Russian delegation will travel to Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday for two-day consultations and discussions.

The Russian delegation will be led by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, while it will be met by Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Unal from the Turkish side. The two sides will discuss the Syrian file in addition to other files such as  than Libya and Ukraine.

The sources indicate that the meeting will largely deal with the upcoming Turkish military operation against the separatist organizations in the northern regions of Syria.

And Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in his statements yesterday، Wednesday، that Turkey and Ankara had agreed to sort out the opposition factions on the basis of their acceptance of dialogue with the Assad regime
