Putin Announces ‘Mobilization’ as Russia Redeploys Syrian & Russian Troops from Syria to Ukraine

Sources loyal to the Assad regime’s 25th Airborne Special Forces Division led by Suhail al-Hassan and directly affiliated with Russia in Syria say that it has completed high military training and is ready to participate in the battles of Ukraine. Part of the Syrian troops were transferred under the name of the 217th Russian Parachute Regiment which has been redeployed by Russia to Ukraine.

Putin said, “We announce partial mobilization starting today. We will use all available means and possibilities to preserve our lands and sovereignty.” Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said, “300,000 reservists will be called up within the scope of the partial mobilization.” He also revealed that 5,937 Russian soldiers were killed thus far in Ukraine, although other sources mark Russian losses as much higher.
