Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz revealed a map that he said was of military sites in Syria, which were used to manufacture advanced munitions for Iran and its allies. Gantz said, “Iran is building terrorist industries in Syria for its own needs, and has recently begun to build advanced industries in Yemen and Lebanon as well,” stressing that “this trend must stop.”
He pointed out that the sites shown on the map, especially an underground site in Masyaf where precision missiles are manufactured, pose a potential threat to the entire region and Israel. For more than four decades Iran has been a state sponsor of terrorism, supporting groups in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq Yemen, Kuwait and Bahrain. Israel continues to play an active role in countering Iran’s expansion in Syria, especially its manufacture and distribution of weapons in the region.
