Assad Compared to Escobar as US Readies to Combat Syria’s Narcotics Industry

The US House of Representatives passes a draft resolution on Captagon linked to the Assad regime. The new law will be passed to the Senate for ratification and then to President Biden. If passed the law will work to disrupt and dismantle the production and smuggling of drugs and networks linked to Bashar Assad’s regime in Syria.

US Representative French Hill said, “Assad will add the title of drug king to his [criminal] record” and Former US envoy to Syria Joel Rayburn said, “the United States is now on its way to treat Bashar al-Assad as it treated Pablo Escobar.”
