HTS PR Stunt Backfires

A video statement has been released by members of HTS, operating previously in Daraa and now continuing their affiliation under Jolani in Idlib, assuming various roles, including within the security forces employing brutal tactics against the Syrian people. They pledged allegiance to Jolani, professing support for the Mujahideen, while accusing the Syrian opposition movement.

Highlighted individuals include:

1. Abu Ghadeer, identified as a security official

2. Abu Qusay, affiliated with the Authority, and son of a security official

3. Abu Shakib, employed in Bab al-Hawa

4. Abu Abdulrahman, described as a pilgrim and university professor

5. Abu Mohammed Bashar, serving as a chef for security officials

6. Abu Farouk Ankhel, whose sons are aligned with HTS

7. Abu Abdullah Hamidi, noted as an administrative worker for HTS

8. Abu Talal, listed as a beneficiary

9. Abu Nafi, affiliated with the Authority, working in a Shari institute

10. Abu Mohammed al-Najeeh, an employee of the court

11. Abu Hamza Abu Aoun, identified as a security official and brother of Abu Rami

Supporting individuals mentioned are:

– Abu Hassan Mssalama, employed in the HTS security forces

– Abu Mohammed al-Hourani, responsible for armament at the HTS Military Academy

– Abu Ahed Ankhel, associated with prominent HTS figures

– Abu Abdul Razzaq al-Hariri, employed as an Amni at the Atmeh camp

This extensive list of names and roles within HTS illustrates Jolani’s attempt to bolster his battered image and international reputation. Conversely, a statement has been issued by individuals from Daraa and surrounding areas, expressing support for justice and the release of falsely imprisoned detainees. They have distanced themselves from those claiming to represent them while collaborating with Jolani and aiding in his crimes.
